Bay Regional Education Committee
BREC is an indigenous local organization with a focus on educational and related fields.
BREC was initiated by a group of good wishers and intellectuals from the region in December. 1997 with a mission to advance the education system of the region.
BREC came into existence due to the lack of an organized public education system in the country and in the parts of the southwest state of Somalia where most of the population is agro-pastoralists and mainly based in the rural parts of the region.
What We Do
Education
Our work revolves around supporting improved access to education and psychosocial well being of the poor and marginalized women, children, and the youth.
BREC foresees a developed community that is socially and economically stable through a centralized education system.
Empower and engage the people of the region to develop through educational development with regard to the achievement of our objectives
